Africa Circular carried out baseline studies for ECREEE to identify agricultural value chains with potential for clean energy and circular economy interventions in Benin, Niger, Nigeria and Senegal.
The work combined desk research, interviews, data collection and stakeholder consultation. Priority value chains were discussed and validated in a workshop, followed by recommendations for clean energy interventions and measures to address implementation barriers.
The assessment also considered potential greenhouse gas reductions, costs and benefits. These were analytical estimates to inform project design, rather than measured results from implemented interventions.
